Tomato gnocchi with chorizo sauce

Tomato gnocchi get their colour from a few tablespoons of tomato paste and their wonderfully fluffy consistency from ricotta. The strong chorizo sauce goes perfectly with the gentle sweetness of the gnocchi. Crispy sage leaves are the aromatic icing on the cake.

Dumplings like on the alp!

Not just because they are that delicious, no, also because they can be prepared with leftovers (you know: “too good for the bin” and all that.) We don’t throw away a single piece of stale bread. We cut it into small cubes, let it dry and use it to prepare dumplings. And who ever was hiking in the mountains knows how tasty dumplings are on a mountain lodge. Sea service fitness and the doctor with the teddies

You might think you are in the waiting room of a pediatrician practice. But no. At the latest when we enter the room with the hundreds of teddies in sailor suits, I know: “Now, it starts again.” We are in the seaman’s outpatient clinic with Doctor Jan-Gerd Hagelstein. In a few days my dearest captain will leave to sign on his next ship.
