Skewered sausage with lots of vegetables

July 26th, 2019 | main dishes

Sausages are boring for a BBQ? Then you should try and do some bratwurst Ikebana… Zucchini, sweet potatoes and a good organic bratwurst – skewered – and off you go.

Skewered sausage with lots of vegetables

Today it is just too hot to cook a lot, so we’ll have something very, very simple. These bratwurst skewers can be prepared very well, they look appealing and above all: no sausage can roll from the grill grate 😉

Crunchy vegetables, fresh herbs and the sausage are cooked at the same time, cut into strips so everyone gets his portion of sausage and vegetables. A delicious aioli or a good, fine mustard, of course crispy baguette bread and the bratwurst pleasure can start.

Bratwurst vegetable skewers

(makes 6 skewers)

1 thick, long, yellow and green zucchini
3 elongated sweet potatoes
cut the zucchini and sweet potatoes into slices of about 2 mm with the vegetable slicer
3 TS olive oil
salt, pepper from the mill
5 sprigs of lemon thyme
brush the zucchini and sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper and layer alternately with thyme leaves or twigs
10 Thuringian bratwurst (organic)
6 skewers
skewer Bratwurst and vegetable alternating as shown in the photo
grill the skewers on the hot grill for approximately 4-5 minutes per side, then cut into three individual skewers and serve with aioli and bread

Ombre & Cicchetti – Venetian lifestyle

From eleven o’clock in the morning almost every Venetian drinks his first glass, his ombra. What is by no means lacking are the famous Venetian Cicchetti. These are the most sophisticated little appetizers you can think of.

Wanderlust to Scandinavia

If there are Scandinavian cinnamon buns at home, then I know our daughter is going on vacation to the far north of Europe, or she has just returned. Yesterday it was time again: incredibly seductive scent of cinnamon and cardamom moved through the house. And in fact: in two weeks she’ll start. Sweden, Norway, Finland.
